Travel around beautiful Thailand with our authentic Asian cuisine made from tropical Queensland and Thailand produce. From a Thai beef salad to complex flavors of a jungle curry, you can explore wonderful Thai dishes. Not only will you be embraced by food, exceptional paintings and other artwork collected throughout Thailand are located across Thai Chill including our large detailed teak wood carving. We hope to offer you a wonderful dining location and feel free to share your travel experiences with us!
MEET US
ANN BALLARD
Born in Thailand in the region of Issan, Ann spent much of her childhood in the kitchen. Afar from our modern day kitchens at a young age Ann would help her grandparents prepare evening meals cooked over grandfather Gee's charcoal. Observing the wonderful aromas of basil, lemongrass, caffir lime, galangal ginger and of course chili among many other herbs, spices and vegetables all acquired fresh from the village household garden. Over the past 8 years Ann has worked at various Thai restaurants, attended Thai academy cooking schools and added her own style and enthusiasm to create a wonderful menu. Although not that of absolute traditional authentic Thai food a compromise had to be established to suit the most dedicated Thai food lover and those new to the wide variety that a Thai menu has to offer. |
ANDY BALLARD
After spending time traveling around Asia, Andy fell in love with Thailand (and who wouldn't?) Throughout his travels he collected artworks and crafts, now located at Thai Chill for you to admire. Not only is Thai culture introduced through Ann's cooking but Andy introduces many different flavors such as 'Bing Su', a Korean dessert wonderful on a hot summers day - a simple coconut shake or a sweet Thai iced tea milk, fresh watermelon or pineapple shakes . |
